Therapeutic Areas

Osteoarthritis

Today, some 250 million people worldwide are affected by osteoarthritis and 1.7 billion people are affected by musculoskeletal conditions. While osteoarthritis can begin at any age, it usually affects older people, with the average age of onset around 45 years. Osteoarthritis can be related to family history, gender - females have a higher incidence of osteoarthritis, age, obesity or overuse or injury to joints.
This is why we are focused on developing therapies to treat osteoarthritis, as there is a high unmet need to address the treatment gap for patients who have persistent joint pain, and for whom total joint replacement is likely. We are committed to improving the quality of life for both humans and animals by using the body's own natural healing process to reduce pain and inflammation and to slow the progression of the disease.

Cancer

Each of the cells in our bodies have a tightly regulated system that controls their growth, maturity, reproduction and eventual death. Cancer begins when certain cells start to grow uncontrollably.

8.2 million people die each year from cancer, an estimated 13% of all deaths worldwide.
Cancer immunotherapy is a very promising and rapidly growing area for the treatment of cancer.

We are passionate in trying to find a solution through using a regenerative medicine approach in the hope that the body will harness its own immune system to fight cancer cells.

Skin conditions & wound healing

Inflammatory skin conditions, such as acne and wound healing are quite often very painful chronic conditions that are slow to resolve.

Most people with acne are between ages 12 and 25, with boys more commonly affected than girls. Acne usually affects the face but may also affect the back, neck and chest. About 8 in 10 teenagers develop some degree of acne.
Although often it is mild, approximately 3 in 10 teenagers have acne of a severity which requires treatment for control and to prevent scarring.

Skin conditions are one of the most near-term areas for cell-based regenerative medicine products and we remain focused on developing a treatment which provides relief by reducing pain and inflammation and encourages accelerated healing and repair.
